Thank you for your interest in becoming a Big Apple Greeter volunteer!

Volunteers are the backbone of Big Apple Greeter. Working with Big Apple Greeter is a fun and exciting way to give back to the city you love!

Big Apple Greeter has 2 different volunteer applications.
Decide which volunteer opportunity - or both! - is right for you and submit your application today!

Greeters meet visitors from all over the world and share the New York City neighborhoods the greeter knows well. Greeters are not professional tour guides; rather, greeters show visitors around the way a visiting friend or family member would be shown New York City. Greeters spend up to 4 daylight hours with visitors (up to 6 people) at least 12 times per year. There are greeter visits to choose from 365 days per year. Office volunteers do a variety of jobs within the Big Apple Greeter office. From processing visitor requests to matching visitors with a greeter to working on special events and special projects, there are many fun ways to help in the Big Apple Greeter office. Click here to read volunteer job descriptions. The office is open Monday through Friday, 9AM to 5PM, and is closed weekends, evenings and public holidays.
